Lynne Optland and K9 Connection, Kelowna BC

Lynne is certified with The Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers. The CCPDT is the leading independent certifying organization for the dog training profession that includes rigorous standards for ethical practices, knowledge and skills in science-based dog training. As a professional member of IAABC she is committed to providing the most effective, convenient solutions to her clients’ dog training needs, she avidly pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development by attending several seminars per year and keeping current on all industry literature.

Her lifetime collection of experiences includes various kinds of animals; wild and domestic. From being raised on a farm; volunteering with the Humane Society and the Grouse Mountain Refuge Centre, in-home pet sitting host for dogs and working with Maureen Fielding of K9 Leadership from 2012 to 2015. In her spare time she likes to pursue Natural Horsemanship. This has been an essential part of learning the language of animals, and how to develop a trustful and respectful human to animal relationship.

She brings together her innate understanding of animal behavior and her science-based knowledge to help her clients create clear communication skills and develop strong relationships with their dogs. She puts clients first and is well respected and referred to by her veterinarian, breeder and rescue centers.

When not helping clients to enjoy easier lives with their canine companions, Lynne enjoys hiking, biking and skiing with her family, yoga and pursuing scent detection training with her own dog, Jaxson, Ch., CGN., CW-SP.
