Who we are

K9 Leadership is a dog obedience and tracking organization based on the North Shore of Vancouver and serves Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Run by renowned tracking expert Maureen Fielding, K9 Leadership offers various classes, including puppy training, dog obedience training, tracking, wilderness search, scent detection, and private classes.

Our teaching methods help you build a positive relationship with your dog in a fun and rewarding environment by employing responsible leadership techniques and drawing awareness to your canine's unique methods of communication.

Our philosophy

We believe in a holistic approach to caring for our dogs, balancing dog needs with human needs for a happier, more balanced companion for life.

Our education

Maureen and team's dedication to their craft is evident in their ongoing extensive travels and education to learn from the best in the field.

She and team members have completed Ken Ramirez's coveted Animal Training for Professionals Across Species course at The Ranch: the Karen Prior National Training Center, Washington, in August 2019. This was followed up in 2023 with the Animal Training Advanced Course.

The team attends virtual annual conferences including Clicker Expo and the MET (Modern Ethical Training) Conference, as well as Fenzi workshops.

Maureen is an avid follower of Sil Sanders and his new book Modern Enthusiastic Tracking and often mentors at his seminars.

She has attended numerous tracking and search and rescue seminars in B.C. and the USA and continues to further her own development along with her experienced scent work team.
